Overview: Small STEM / project based classes for students ages 5 – 14 to enjoy and learn about science, with a horticulture and food focus. Classes are related but can be taken in any combination that works for each family. The first class is highly recommended for all students so that they get an introduction to the planting lab and where we will host all the other classes.
Class time for each day will be:
10:00 – 11:00 am
11:30 am – 12:30 pm
1:30 – 2:30 pm
3:00 – 4:00 pm
You will be emailed a form to select the times for each class.
Planting MicroGreens Introduction, Student Kit

LED Circuits and Electricity, LED Light Kit Projects

Cost: $35 per student per class. Kids enrolled for all 6 classes receive a discounted rate of $30 per class. Prepaid registration for enrollment in all 6 classes is $180
Lab Materials / Additional Fees: Some classes have minimal labs fees for “take-home” or in-class supplies, e.g. participants plant and take home microgreens / beginners’s kit during the first class. Lab fees for the January class is $5 per child. Kids not taking home kits will be given something to work with in class so they can participate in the projects. Any lab fees for other classes will be announced in advance and will be kept as minimal as possible.
Seats per class: Each class is limited to 10 students per class. Registration in advance is required to reserve a seat. Parents can register for any combination of classes desired.
Curriculum: Students will receive a printout of the Lesson plan for each STEM project from each class. If you have special requests for accommodations during lessons, please contact us prior to registration for that class.

Summer Science Camp 2020
Following the end of the school year, SWFL Little Leaves will be operating for a second season. Open registration for the 2020 SUMMER Science Camp Sessions will be available following the first January class. This is a week long Science Camp related to the above classes, but we take it several steps further and explore event planning and cooking which will culminate in a Saturday event for the parents where the kid’s turn our facility into an exciting farm to table dining experience prepared by kids!
